Lalousis Greek Restaurant opened its doors to the public in November 2004 by George Lalousis and his wife Sarah and very quickly gained a fantastic reputation, not only for its excellent Greek Food but also as a place to go for a fun night out with amazing entertainment with Greek live Bouzouki music, Traditional Greek dancing, plate smashing and a late night disco till around 1am. After a successful two years in business, and after popular demand, Dewsbury’s popular night spot has just undergone some impressive changes including a new Italian menu which aims to offer a wider choice of popular dishes from around the Mediterranean.
We're proud to offer a great atmosphere and surroundings whatever the occasion. From simple dining to well organised corporate events, our venue is ideal to make you and your guests comfortable and satisfied with the level of quality of service. Let us provide the right location for your birthday party, hen / stag party, anniversary, retirement party, wedding reception and much more. Our restaurant can comfortably sit around 120 people and offer an ambience second to none. Live Greek Entertainment, late night disco, Greek dancing and maybe even a bit of plate smashing... Our Friends can now expect the much loved Greek dishes with the same excellent quality as before, but with the addition of an Italian menu which will offer a wide choice of pizzas, pasta and authentic Italian dishes as well as a great children’s menu which is ideal for tiny tums.
George (Lalousis) is the driving force in our kitchen. Like most Greek restaurateurs, George loves where he comes from and lives to celebrate both the traditions and Greek historical inheritance. Lalousis El Greco Restaurant is his interpretation of the best we have come to know in the Greek culture of family, where it is at its best and most often celebrated at, the dinner table. At Lalousis El Greco, you will find your favourite regional classics as you have eaten them in restaurants throughout Greece, the Greek Islands and sun kissed Italy. Delicious, is simple food that tastes as good as the aroma that gives away the passion for a great eating experience.
Somewhere, running between the dance floor and the tables you’ll find Tuay. Tuay is a charming Turkish lad from the picturesque town of Adana, who is also one of the original and long serving members of our team. It’s not just because of his professionalism and serving skills that our frequently visiting customers and friends have formed a bond and friendship with Tuay, but mostly because they have been dancing around the restaurant in the rhythm of Zorba Dance which is Tuay’s speciality. At some point during the night, he’ll come and ask you if you’re celebrating a special occasion with us tonight and he’ll then invite you on the dance floor and take you through a “crash course" of Greek dancing where you might even get a chance to smash a plate the way the Greeks do…
